Leasing of Simultaneous Interpretation Equipment
1. Introduction to Simultaneous Interpretation Equipment and What It Contains
Simultaneous interpretation equipment, which is the indispensable system device for simultaneous interpretation during high-level international meetings, enables the lecturer¡¯s words to be translated into the target language without interrupting the lecturer and sent to the participants from other channels. Participants can willfully select the language channel he/she understands. To meet the needs of different languages, simultaneous interpretation equipment is divided into two-channel, four-channel, six-channel and eight-channel options with each channel transmitting one language. The commonly used equipment on the market is with six channels, enabling the translation of six languages.
According to transmission theory, simultaneous interpretation equipment can be classified as wired and wireless. Wired equipment is mostly used in some fixed meeting places, therefore not suitable for lease. The wired simultaneous interpretation equipment is divided into routing-type and infrared-type. Because the routing-type cost too much effort during the arrangement of conference hall, it is rarely used on the market and is soon going to be completely eliminated. Infrared simultaneous interpretation equipment, with infrared transmission function and stable performance, is presently more popular.
With the development of infrared technology, if the infrared frequency is different, so is the effect. At present, there are Philip, RESTMOMENT and other products on the market which adopt the high-frequency infrared transmission technology and whose signal is completely free from the outside jamming, like from energy saving lamp.
A complete set of simultaneous interpretation equipment contains simultaneous interpretation host machine, infrared emitting host machine, infrared heating panel, translator device, interpreting compartment and simultaneous interpretation earphone (receiving unit). The number of translator and compartment has to be decided by that of the target language while earphone (representing receiving unit) has to be fixed by the number of participants.
